So this morning and all its wonderfulness got even better with the knowledge that I am not pregnant. Still. Again. I would have been due on Christmas Eve! Not now.
One more month wasted. One more month of waiting.
It was hard not yelling at my well-meaning cousin on Sunday when I was admiring a newborn at the party we were at. I said, "Aww I miss Rylin being this little." She told me, "Just have another one!" If only it were that easy.
As I was in the middle of telling a friend my sad news today, she was excitedly trying to show me a picture of her positive pregnancy test.
Sigh.
Glum.
At least she isn't due in October.

The Last Chocolate in the Box
I have never been a huge fan of chocolates. But when I do enjoy them, I always appreciate the slip of paper provided by some thoughtful chocolatier letting me know what was what. When this helpful guide is missing, my world freezes.
Oh sure, I know the square ones are caramels, lumpy ones contain nuts, and fuzzy looking ones have coconut. But what about all those other nondescript round ones? You know, 95% of the box?
How am I to know if I am going to get a fruity truffle or a creamy hazelnut? Or something awful like coffee flavor (yech)? It's a gamble every time.
Which brings us to my point today: The Last Chocolate in the Box.
What do I do?! This particular morsel will be my last memory of the box which to this point was scrumptious. My final taste of a chocolate feast! Could I really risk all that on some unknown foe? Do I just toss it, letting the previous nut cluster be the finale?
What would I be missing out on if I did? Or what could I be avoiding?
While contemplating this conundrum, I realized how applicable this lesson was to my life. How many "chocolates" have I missed out on over the years because I was afraid they might be "coffee-flavoured?" How many friends might I now have in Rexburg if I had made the effort to just take them out of the box?
With a sigh of resolution, I timidly tasted the tidbit.
Creamy vanilla almond. :)
